Most times we get overly excited and creative with our home decorations, which is fine; but there are certain things you must avoid in order to keep your room sane, safe, healthy, ventilated, and tastefully decorated. Your bedroom, for instance is a place of rest, solace, and however else it cuts it for you. So yea, it’s cool to go all Barbie on your bedroom decorations with stuffing, teddy bears, floor rugs, wall decorations, and loads of other girly stuff, but you must also put these four highlights below into consideration.
Cluttering your bedroom with an untidy collection of things can get more hazardous than you expect. Littering your bed or chairs with unfolded laundry and other important stuffs lying around messily can actually leave you clumsy, fatigued, and increase your stress hormone levels. Besides “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” a “Tidy room is a peaceful room”. A well-organized room space will give you an air of calmness and warm reception as you come home after a long day out. You could navigate into your bathroom easily without bumping into things, and come back to a neatly-spread bed.
You might want to avoid getting an oversized bed or wardrobe if your room space is small. An oversized furniture would consume most of the space, leaving you with little space to fuse all other bedroom items. Get accurate measurement of your room in order to determine the right furniture size to buy. When your furniture is moderately fitting, you would be able to fit other stuff inside the room without cluttering it.
Overstuffing your wardrobe or underneath your bed is a wrong thing to do. Keep your clothes neatly hung or folded at all times, and the space underneath the bed should be as free as possible. Overstuffing your wardrobe with old clothes, shoes, bags, and more is a really bad idea; why? Because it will never stop. Take stock of what you really wear, not what you think you may wear one day when it comes back in style or what would suit you next year after you lose weight.
Get rid of things you don’t wear by gifting them out to people who really need them. Another hazard of overstuffing is insects. Insects would easily build their nests inside the wardrobe and infest the clothes.
Do not choke your room
You MUST keep your room well ventilated. Overstuffing your room can cause the air to be stuffy, dull, and could also affect your sleep as it would leave you rolling in bed and restless at night. Proper ventilation is ideal for the room. Let go of unnecessary clothes, furnishing, aesthetics, decorations and more.
