Yea, we know. Life, in terms of managing your expenses and fitting all you have into a small space could be really hard especially if you’ve got a great taste for big fancy stuff like I do. Let’s breaks the jinx, shall we? First, while you daydream and look forward to that dream home and all the luxury that comes with it, you need to admit the fact that your budget is limited, your space is small, and your dreams are progressive. So pending the time the big money comes along, here are few tips to managing and making that small space look big.
Big, but limited furniture
Yes, I said it. “Big” but don’t forget “limited” furniture. How does that work? For your bedroom, a large bed, but small night stand, small dresser, and a full multifunctional wardrobe which can accommodate your shoes, bags, clothes, and other accessories including a wall mirror will do just fine.
In the sitting room, a large couch would strike a beautiful difference, with a small coffee table and perhaps a wall to wall mirror and multifunctional furniture which can accommodate drawers, decors, and other living room aesthetics without creating a clutter. Less is more. The less you cramp up furniture, the more space you have.
Over and over again we preach colors. Colors do great magic. Use light, atmosphere-friendly colors like white and yellow. These colors have a way of making your room look larger than it originally is. Bright colors create contrast, which creates depth and the illusion of a larger space.
Art is life
Invest in large scale artworks and decorative accents like lovely flower vases, scented flameless candles, country souvenirs etc. Large wall frames strike an amazing impression in the overall decoration and ambience of a room. A fancy fluffy center rug on display would also give the room an improved depth.
Use light weight/ light colored fabrics
Light weight curtains permit free flow of fresh air and natural light into the apartment. Natural light creates the illusion of a larger space by penetrating even the darkest corner in the room. Light colored fabrics for curtains and rugs too keep the room simple but classy. In addition, decluttering is also important, if the room is choked, the air would also be choked.
