Towards ensuring affordable housing for all, the Ogun State Government has signified interest to partner with the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC), to allow subscribers access to a long-term loan at low-interest rates.
However, the Managing Director, NMRC, Mr. Kehinde Ogundimu, excited at the partnership with the Ogun State government emphasized that affordable housing would continue to be a mirage until the housing sector gets massive investments.
Akande Omoniyi Jagunmolu, Commissioner for Housing disclosed this in Abeokuta during a courtesy visit by the management of the company, saying that the provision of housing facility is a catalyst to economic development.
Jagunmolu noted that the government is committed to continually build houses until it gets to the reach of subscribers, adding that it had put up a dimensional approach to make houses accessible for its citizens.
‘’The present administration is partnering with the company, in order to place the subscribers who could not access loan elsewhere on a long-term loan through the company where they will enjoy low-interest rates’’, the Commissioner said.
