It’s a New year! And while everyone is following through on their “new year, new me” resolutions, have you thought about your housecleaning resolutions too? Not to worry, we would help.
New year resolutions are about letting go of things that no longer serve you and the purpose you seek, and to welcome new things that you hope will make it all better as the year unfolds. Sounds familiar? Yes, decluttering. Home keeping resolutions can range from letting go of those old stuffs that you no longer need in order to free up space and make your home look more “homely”
Of course you knew we would reiterate this. Decluttering is key, and it’s mental and physical health benefits are endless. Decluttering your wardrobe, furniture, and other stuffs that unnecessarily take up the breathable spaces in the home is highly important. Let go of those old clothes that no longer fit, rearrange the furniture, open the blinds for proper ventilation as you breathe in more fresh air.
You really wouldn’t mind repainting now, would you? Start your year out with new and positively bright colors to set the mood for the year. Use happy colors that would leave you smiling for no reason and lift your spirit. Repainting gives you a feeling of newness, a new purpose, even as you feel more at home.
Dust it all off
More or less like spring cleaning. Dust the cobwebs, block the rat holes, fumigate the corners, clean the gutter, rearrange the pantry/stores. Besides the traditional practice of dusting the home at the beginning of the year, it Is also healthy to wash them all away.
Make new room
You might never know what the new year has in store for you. But how do you prepare yourself to welcome the surprises when you don’t even have room for them. Create those spaces, remove things that no longer add value to you in order to pave way for the ones that will.
