The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) has announced plans to hold the 10th edition of its annual conference series aimed at finding lasting solutions to the challenges posed by discarded wastes in the construction Industry.
According to the DG/CEO of NBRRI, Engr. Samson Duna, the annual conference themed “Circular Economy in the Built Environment for Enhanced Performance of the Nigerian Construction Industry” and slated to hold between 27th and 28th of April 2021, intends to brainstorm possible solutions to eliminating waste in the Construction Industry; thereby turning them to sustainable wealth in the country.
This year’s NBRRI International Conference is expected to be declared open by the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu who is to be supported by the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi.
According to the DG, the forum is also expected to discuss other sub-themes which include; Socio-Economic and Environmental impact of circular economy in Construction; Construction using Recycled/Reclaimed Materials; Policies, Insurance, and Legal Frameworks as drivers for Circular Economy in Construction; amongst others.
Engr. Samson Duna who recounted the giant strides and the remarkable achievement recorded by the Conference in time past, noted that this year event will not be an exemption; as it has been designed to deliver its mandate both on the construction industry and the Nigerian economy.
The 2021 NBRRI International Conference will see Guest speakers and experts from within and Outside Nigeria. The Series is scheduled to hold at the NBRRI Administrative Headquarters in Abuja; with many participants expected to join the conference at the venue while some will join virtually on https://ezxpo.net/nbrri2021 due to the COVID-19 restrictions put in place by the NCDC.
